This new Restaurant Guide is set to open Andalucia to the world, it's secrets and traditional cuisine are included within these pages - enjoy.

This is the first restaurant guide that covers the whole of the region of Andalucia in Southern Spain, a long needed help for the lover of fine food.

It’s a great guide that introduces a gastronomic world from cave restaurants to those with fantastic terrace views and glamorous dining destinations to family friendly locations The Dining Secrets of Andalucia by Jon Clarke, recently released by Santana Books is the first of what is sure to be a regularly updated guide.

The author travelled the whole of Andalucia, which is larger than Switzerland and other European countries, that in itself is quite a task, but it has been done!

Provinces of Andalucia

The eight provinces of Andalucia are represented in this nicely presented guide for gourmet diners.

  • Almeria
  • Cadiz
  • Cordoba
  • Granada
  • Huelva
  • Jaen
  • Malaga
  • Sevilla

are all included, from posh parts to roadside inns take a trip through this book and be entertained. Even if you don’t have a trip planned this is a great coffee table book waiting to be dipped into again and again.

If finding the best in local gastronomy is the highlight of your travels this is the book you need to decide your destination, Malaga province for example has 30 establishments represented in the guide.

While some of the lesser known provinces like Almeria, Huelva and Jaen have just a few entries. With plenty of feedback and recommendations this will without a doubt be a highly praised, cherished and most welcome annual addition to any bookshelf.

The guide features each establishment on a double–page spread, one an informative page with a bit of background and history on the owner or chef, the other introduces:

  • The best Dish
  • The best Wine
  • The best Value
  • A top tip
  • And the best place around to lay your head after such enjoyment

Armed with this guide only, you could plan a dining tour around Andalucía knowing that your destination has been thoroughly checked out and approved before you go.

A nice touch in the book is the Roll of Honour with top five lists ranging from best terraces to romance and wine to family bests, something to suit all pockets and necessity here.

There is also a Wild Card section at the back which includes a list of the up and coming eating places that are worth a visit.

A nicely designed, well-presented and more than welcome addition the Spain guide section.
